Our story
History of CHANGE HUMAN'S LIFE
In 1960, the State of Côte d’Ivoire, through the Ministry of the Interior, passed a law on the creation, organisation and operation of associations, law no. 60.315 of 21 September 1960. A few years later, in 1972, decree no. 72.746 of 24 November 1972 on the organisation of youth associations was signed and entrusted to the Ministry of Youth. For the State of Côte d’Ivoire, the aim was to enable non-governmental organisations and civil society as a whole to participate in the development of Côte d’Ivoire, and to support and assist the government in its decision-making and in implementing these decisions.
It is with this in mind that:
respectful of republican laws ;
noting the depravity of morals in society;
seeing the risky behaviour that leads to several scourges, in this case HIV/AIDS;
seeing that these scourges are an obstacle to the harmonious development of the country;
determined to build a more responsible society, which will ensure its prosperity;
aware that the values of unity and peace must prevail in society;
resolved to make each individual in society responsible for respecting his or her rights and duties and those of others;
committed to popularising human rights;
convinced of their charisma in helping to change behaviour;
A group of young people who had been trained as peer educators by an international organisation called Hope World Wide-Côte d’Ivoire, and who shared the same ideology and were committed to changing lives for harmonious development in a peaceful society, decided to create an organisation and also took inspiration from a name in English like that of their trainer.
The NGO Change Human’s Life, abbreviated to CHL, was created by the members who signed up to the statutes and internal regulations at the Constitutive General Meeting held on 10 November 2008 in Abobo, Abidjan.

The NGO Change Human’s Life is committed to transforming people’s living conditions and behaviours through its programmes, which are structured around three main departments:
- Department 1: Peace and Human Rights;
- Department 2: Health and the fight against AIDS;
- Department 3: Economic, Social and Environmental Development.
